I was not, initially, too exultant to give Blake the time of day he deserves. Having discovered him and listened more carefully, my patience has been rewarded. This release may be slightly less challenging than others but it is the one that still most makes me want to listen to and discover more of his work
Best James Blake album to date, since it matches the lyrics and voice delivery with the usual production quality.

For me, the album feels like the artist wants to return attention to the long form and to the consistent listening of the record from beginning to end. In today's industry, where individual songs appear quickly and disappear from the news feed just as quickly, such a move is perceived almost as deliberate resistance.
