At least in 1961, this cat could swing! He could also kick in a killer ballad. Further Definitions is a joyous bit of jazz of the day. Carter must have been a confident cat as well, sharing front line duties with Coleman Hawkins here. Fortunately he more than keeps pace, confidently swapping solos with The Hawk throughout the album.
