(Studio) One Love - Brentford Road Essentials
by Jimmy Dread

I first got into Studio One off the back of the Soul Jazz Records compilation '100% Dynamite' c.1997. It was a balmy hot Summer, I'd just finished my first year at university and spent the majority of June sitting in the garden at the Student Union bar with Willie Williams' 'Armagedion Time' and Johnny Osbourne's 'We Need Love' floating out into the breeze. Fast forward 17 years later and my love of all things Brentford Road shows no sign in letting up. So, in a tribute to the late, great genius that was Clement 'Sir Coxsone' Dodd, here's 40 original JA classics on Studio One or the Coxsone imprint - each one a scorcher from start to finish.
