Top 100 Music Albums of 1963 by Moondance
In 1963, I turned 7 and was finding my way in the world - I was discovering that I could run fast and I had a decent brain in my head ~ and I loved songs that played on the radio - even if I was still a bit young to truly appreciate them.
This was the year The Beatles arrived - and the radio went insane playing Beatles songs like I Wanna Hold Your Hand & She Loves You. For a 7 year old, they were very contagious. Other songs I loved to sing as I went about my business were: Return To Sender; Move Baby Move; Surf City; Summer Holiday.
1963 was also the year Dylan released 'The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan' but I was only to hear the big songs from that album (eg Blowing In The Wind; Don't Think Twice) as covers - at least for now.
In terms of rating 1963 in relation to the 63 years between 1960 - 2022, it seems to be the first year that I feel a definite emotional attachment ~ although it still ranks low at #TBA of 63.

This album contains 'Blowin' In The Wind' (by The New World Seekers) as well as Blind Boy Grunt (aka Bob Dylan) doing 'John Brown' and 'Only A Hobo' plus Happy Traum doing 'I Will Not Go Under The Ground' - which eventually became known as 'Let Me Die In My Footsteps'. A definite 'time capsule' album.
