The first time I listened to this album it went straight into my top 10 for the year, after a while I moved it into the top 5. Now that I know it better I love it even more and is now my favourite album of the year.
You know those moments in a song that make you go "oh yeeaaahh!!!" but you know when you highlight them to someone else they will just go "shrug...oh yeah...meh"? This album is full of those for me. And those last three songs on the album just raise the level even more for a fantastic finish.

The first time I listened to this album it went straight into my top 10 for the year, after a while I moved it into the top 5. Now that I know it better I love it even more and is now my favourite album of the year.

Best progressive rock psychedelic rock live album of the year
The 3rd live album where I have seen the band live on the relevant tour. Not the Melbourne show, but the same tour at an open air venue on a warm Easter night, supported by Tropical Fuck Storm (slightly different set list though. We got Nuclear Fusion into Honey, - which was an amazing transition actually - instead of Sleep Drifter into Honey, and a couple of other minor ins and outs). A microtonal tour with songs mainly from the three microtonal albums, Banana, KG, and LW, plus one song from Gumboot Soup. Straws In The Wind is the highlight here, where Ambrose goes full on lead singer performer when he gets his chance. The songs from L.W. are improved in a live setting in my opinion. Best alternative rock archival live album of the year
I have listened to a handful of these live albums now and this may be my favourite so far, I love the setlist (especially the set order - opening and closing with the 2 different versions of Wave of Mutilation) of this one. Franks vocals are fantastic, and version of Vamos here (my fave Pixies song) may be the best live version of it I have heard (apart from the time I actually heard it live - on the Surfer Rosa/Come On Pilgrim tour so I heard it twice)

Fantastic chart, yet again! I'll need to check out some more of the Aussie bands on your list, and I guess my chart skews more Canadian. Not sure what I could recommend that you haven't already heard, but you might like N0V3L for an arty post-punk minimalist sound, or Yoo Doo Right for more haunting droning instrumental tunes?
