This isn't exactly a ranking it's just sort of a good place I can show appreciation for a country that's put out some of my favorite music. Also if you have recommendations definitely let me hear them because I'm always in need of more Japanese music

Probably my favorite J-rock band but they've nevet put out an amazing album but they have made some of the best songs of all time. On this album you've got Re:Re, Rewrite, and to your town as my personal favorites but it is still a fun listen from to back even if they're not all instantly memorable. But the amount of good songs this group has under their belt is ridiculous. Sore Dewa Mata Ashita, Haruka Kanata, UCLA, Soranin, Blood Circulator, it goes on and on.

So so so so consistent in their song quality. They're so heartfelt and catchy that the language barrier hardly even feels like it's there.

These guys seem to be abrasive for abrasive sake on first listen but upon further inspection, I've found a sound that I've become obsessed with. It's just raw emotion accompanied by instruments going a million miles an hour in slow motion if that makes sense. Out of this album Silent Girl is my easy favorite but definitely listen to Yuugure No Tori, My War, Ikareta Neet, and 23sai no Natsuyasumi to get started. It's so unique and I love it.
