Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 5% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.1/100, a mean average of 79.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.7.

This is a beautiful, piano led album that goes alongside perfectly with the film it was made for. The emotion this record can create is nothing short of staggering as I always find myself getting lost in the music. This is mainly due to the delicate and fantastic instrumentation, such as the piano which commands the sound, that creates an atmosphere perfect for introspection. During every listen I find myself sitting there and just dwelling on everything that is going on. The music on this record really has a power over you and it will make you emotional no matter what. The songs are phenomenal as well with some of my favourite longer cuts being Zenzenzense, Date, Theme Of Mitsuha, Katawaredoki, Nandemonaiya (Both Versions) and finally one of my favourite songs of all time, Sparkle. Sparkle perfectly encapsulates the film and the album that it is on by being so powerful yet also so intricate and graceful. The music is so beautiful and the vocals really transform the song. I don't know how many times I have listened to that song but it just never gets old. You also get these small tracks which only last one or two minutes which are like interludes. They were obviously created to work in the context of the film and while a few of them are pretty weak most of them still have very high quality performances on there. They never really get that boring as well and keep the music flowing along nicely. Overall, just because this is a movie soundtrack I think it might get overlooked as there are some phenomenal songs on here and the whole album is brilliant and deserves a lot of praise.

This album and the film it's attached to are so incredibly moving it seriously gets me worked up any time I listen to it

Beautiful
