Number one is a hard choice, while Pinkerton hits my feelings harder Blue takes it as the most fun album. But honestly, I go back and forth almost daily on which one I prefer.

Oh man, this is a beauty. Weezer is once again at their best when going introspective and not worrying about popularity. The orchestration is such a genius idea that especially shines through on Numbers, Bird With a Broken Wing, Le Brea Tar Pits, and really the whole album. I love the two albums below this one a ton but it's just so much more concise than those two that it takes it for my favorite post 90's Weezer album

It feels as close to a sequel to Blue as they'll make. It follows the formula of Blue almost to a tee. It is such a rush front to back. Summer Elaine And Drunk Dory is the only track that I skip most listens but literally, the rest of it is Weezer at its best.

Very self-aware lyrics commentating on their career up to this point with really catchy rock tunes, also very reminiscent of early days. I think this album would've done wonders more for me if all of the songs were as lyrically poignant as Ain't Got Nobody, Eulogy For A Rock Band, Had it Up to Here, and Back To The Shack. The rest are all pretty fun with Cleopatra and Go Away being the only ones that I don't get super excited to hear. Just wish the rest of the album was as much as a high as my favorites. Still amazing though

It feels a lot more like a passion project especially in contrast to green. These are the songs that the boys wanted to make at this time and they weren't too worried about radio play or anything. It is very all over the place in tone and quality though.

It's just solid. The great moments aren't mind-blowingly good, just good and I think there's something to admire in that. Pretty lyrically lacking but the lines I enjoy aren't introspective or anything like their best albums but there's still really fun lines here and there. "All of the good ones" all around is really enjoyable and probably my favorite. There are some bad lines as well. There is one song that is almost unlistenable though in "she needs me". Solid record

Honestly I have very few gripes with this project. It kind of feels like Van Weezer b sides but somehow these cuts feel more impressive sonically. The production feels darker and there's a decent amount of seriously awesome harmonic choices. Lyrically they're about as deep as anything on Van Weezer which is a mild disappointment but for this type of project I'm not that mad
