'95.a Country Hysteria
Aka "C’mon Boots!"
Almost as soon as the second track - "Any Man of Mind"- commences, it immediately becomes apparent to the Def Leppard fanboy in me whose twiddlin’ those knobs. (Just listen to those DRUMS! OR those "YEAH"s! Laughing ) While Mutt Lange’s heavy hand isn’t as apparent on other tracks such as "Whose Bed have your Boots Been Under" , his sense of fun is. And perhaps it took listening to The Woman In Me to realize that Mutt Lange’s secret weapon might just have been FUN. After all with Back In Black, Pyromania & Hysteria , Mutt helped make some of the FUNnest music of the '80s, and here he is doing the same thing in a different genre in the '90s.
But this isn’t all about Mutt! Because Shania’s voice & enthusiasm just shines through on each track too. I never thought I’d say this, BUT this is great & FUN stuff!
Now all that being said, I could only take this album in small doses.
