76.071* Half dozen absolute classics on this, the rest mainly crooning ballads. But it was their own compositions that were the gold, the covers basically just filler. Hence the greatness of the Beatles. Even at this early stage they had the songwriting skills that quite rightly gave them legendary status. All hail The Beatles. 05/26

They'd improved and started to solidify their sound so this is better than the debut. There's quite a few instrumentals on this in the twangy surf guitar style which I quite like. 12 songs on this with an overall run time of 25 minutes. Short, sharp, twangy joy. 08/25

I've found with Bob Dylan, you have to be 100% in the mood to fully enjoy it. If only even 75% in the mood, it can fall flat after a while. "Blowin' in the Wind" has moved into top place for my favorite Dylan tune 08/24
