This song has such an amazing vibe to it. It just feels so loose and playful, it really feels like it could be one of the most in-character Gorillaz performances, portraying 2D’s more awkwardly upbeat and eccentric mood. I find it enjoyable after hearing a lot of 2D’s more drugged-out/melancholic attitude on Humanz. This track feels like a summary of the band’s last few phases, but really cohesive. The lyrics have some really interesting imagery, and the falsetto bridge is BEAUTIFUL. The pairing of the hook and the bridge at the end is incredible.
About as chill as chill can get.
