Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 4% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 79.3/100, a mean average of 78.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.5/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 17.0.

PLASTIC BEACH is there best album by far, with Demon Days taking up 2nd place.
What am I missing here, in theory, I should really like these guys, but I can't get into it past their mainstream songs, I mean I really enjoy those? Just the rest of their music doesn't stick out to me and I don't know why
1. Plastic Beach
2. Demon Days

1. Plastic Beach (rhinestone eyes, empire ants)
2. Demon Days (every planet we reach is dead, last living souls)
3. Humanz (strobelite, andromeda)
4. Gorillaz (5/4)
Don't be fooled by the ranking of the albums here. I'm guessing more young people are using this, because their self titled album is easily better than Plastic Beach, with songs such as Clint Eastwood, Re-hash, Tomorrow Comes Today, Rock The House and 19-2000 all among their very best songs.
One of the most important artists of the 2000s, and one of the most unique, innovative and groundbreaking musical acts ever seen.
my love for music is due to Gorillaz..
They've got some great songs, but overall there's a lot of filler on their albums. Not bad though. Clint Eastwood, Rhinestone Eyes, and Feel Good Inc are really great songs. You gotta love Damon Albarn, but I prefer Blur. It's a really cool idea though.
Very talented bunch, mixing different genres together consistently- usually with some rap/ hip-hop- overall a very enjoyable listen.
