Great influential song and definetly a highlight of the album. But I do like Cockers version better!

Probably the best performance by Ringo on any Beatles album, a simple but catchy song :)

With a little help from my friends, is without doubt Ringo Starr's greatest vocal moment in the Beatles. In fact, it couldn't be any more perfect for the fab four drummer. He of course suited, yellow submarine, too, but that was purely a children's song, and was basically designed as a novelty track. But on WALHFMF, here was a chance for Ringo to finally stamp his own personality and character on a brilliant song. His vocals suit the song perfectly, so much in fact that I don't think even John, Paul or even George could have done a better job, or at least more plausible or believable one. The lyrics are perfect for Ringo too, the song's title in some ways even sums up his role in the band and the reference to 'getting high' was a great little addition considering the times. WALHFMF, is a superb creation, an essential part of the Sgt. Pepper experience, and also Ringo Starr's greatest moment as a Beatle.
