Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 3% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 82.7/100, a mean average of 82.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 83.2/100. The standard deviation for this track is 11.4.

A typical Genesis song with its hooks and angles. And a great mellotron ending.

I find it at the same level as the other hailed songs in this album. For me slow does not tend to mean bad but sometimes the opposite!
That Mellontron instrument was apparently bought from King Crimson according to Wikipedia. And I can believe that, what a sound.

Some fine moments scattered throughout, including some nice flute work and a pretty spectacular ending featuring Banks on the mellotron, but the overall tune is a little slow and a little unfocused, especially in the writing, as it's one of the few Genesis tunes that I can't figure out what the hell the lyrics are talking about. Not bad by any means, but I think it's one of Nursery Cryme's more forgettable tracks.

Such a beautiful song and such a beautiful ending.

Pretty underrated on the whole, partly due to it having a really short but really good mellotron climax at the end.
