Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 87.0/100, a mean average of 87.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 87.9/100. The standard deviation for this track is 11.1.

I once read a comment that said this song couldn't really be that good if it was immediately pleasant for so many people, that it would wear itself out after a while. Well, more than a year later, and I still come back for Dawn Chorus. It's such a soothing and emotional track at the same time. It sounds like Radiohead, but it's also stripped back, and Thom Yorke really makes it his own. It's a more personal journey through a stream-of-consciousness that slowly rises, barely reaches your hand, but never gets to hold you as it fades out before you have the chance to process your own feelings. It's like being lost in space when suddenly you find someone to dance with before you're both out of reach from each other, and you're lost once more in the vastness of nothing.
This holds up next to the best Radiohead songs. Thom fucking made masterpiece of a lifetime.
Absolutely beautiful song. Has to be one of Thom's best solo tracks.
