So what could possibly follow? Well, Q Part 4, of course! Seriously, though, this is another seriously impressive composition, flawlessly delivered. Another plodding intro gives way to dynamic counterpoint and cross rhythms, sounding like complex machinery struggling to find harmonic rhythm. The various motifs poke and prod at each other until the rock organ enters and takes control, bolstered by more of that frenzied drumming. Imagine Jon Lord of Deep Purple gene spliced with Rod Argent taking off in a Mahavishnu format, and you start to get the picture. After some truly massive jamming, he sax reinserts into the frenzy and eventually tones everyone else down and out so it can once again play a plaintive tune. The relative peace is rather short-lived however, as the drums become more animated, propelling the sax to greater tension and the two together reenter avant garde land before the return of a keyboard sounding like some of Keith Emerson's more aggressive playing. The sax motif rejoins the keyboard while the guitar, bass and drums try to keep a solid foundation under the melee right up until the final resolution and quick fade. Damn, that was fantastic!

A lot of hard work happens in the background to keep BEA running, and it's especially difficult to do this when we can't pay our hosting fees :(
