For Q, the core trio of Tom Hasslan (guitar), Jørgen Mathiesen (sax), and Axel Skalstad (drums) add keyboardist Ståle Storløkken and bassist Ingebrigt Håker Flaten and come up with the most jaw dropping album I've heard in a good long while.
Just four cuts, not particularly imaginative in naming (Q Part 1, Q Part 2, Q Part 3, Q Part 4) make up this highly progressive avant-fusion masterpiece. While the titles may not give you much to go on, the music has plenty to say. Each of the four cuts, ranging from 6:34 to 13:30, is a fantastic musical exposition in its own right and the four come together to complete a truly mind-blowing album.
