Q Part 3 opens with a rather plodding Asian sounding ostinato over which the sax plays a plaintive melody. This didn't initially sound promising to me, but yo of little faith, by now I should have known better. This simple, plodding opening is there to set up what is to come, which it does brilliantly. A rather predictable chord progression suddenly gives way to massive power chords on the guitar and suddenly we're in pure heavy rock territory for a dozen bars before we get an awesome progressive rock melody a la the best of Soft Machine. After an acoustic interlude with what must be electronic imitation of bird calls putting you right there on the precipice of a great Norwegian fjord, we get a hard sax close out with an epic heavy metal spirit, like sludgy Black Sabbath but with a screeching sax subbing for Ozzy's nasal wail, finally topped by a gentle fading of the original ostinato. It's emotionally all consuming; I truly felt stripped to the core at this point.

A lot of hard work happens in the background to keep BEA running, and it's especially difficult to do this when we can't pay our hosting fees :(
