To me an incredibly emotive song. The piano during the three choruses is genius (Edited)
Dylan’s all over the gaff. First up he claims he didn’t read the situation with the smile to friend, although later admits a scarf had kept her mouth well hid. Won’t stand up in court.
Then he didn’t realise her youthful age. At this time Mr Zimmerman was steering his own ship more than any other musician in the world, yet he’s taking her inexperienced word on where they were going? Unlikely.
Bob. It’s 1966. You’re at the peak of your powers. A bit of snow shouldn’t be blinding you. You’re supposed to be a prophet aintcha? Plus, she’s not even from the freakin’ farm. You’re at sixes and sevens son. She’s pulling your profoundly poetic plonker.
Change the title to ‘All Along the Botchtower’ or forget about it. (Edited)
This is an alright song. It has a good rhythm, but very bad vocals.
