I couldn't disagree more with the first comment. The song is so much more complex than its seemingly cheesy chorus. Each verse describes a kind of love which isn't meant to be due to various reasons (death, war, etc) but in spite of this the reason to be together is simple "I Want You". So while on first listen this song might come across as either sweet or corny, its very bittersweet throughout.
After years of not quite getting Dylan, his genius suddenly becomes all too clear! (Edited)

Just a great love song. A prime example of Dylan’s voice being able to convey emotion as well as much more accomplished singers. (Edited)

I really hate this song, there are about 5 or 6 songs from this album that I wish I could take off...."i want you, i want you, i want you....soooooooooooooo bad"..give me a break.. It is almost as bad as "..how man ears must one man have, before he can hear people cry". (Edited)
