Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 94.6/100, a mean average of 93.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 94.8/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.3.

A very good song and very good Pink Floyd song. Much more straightforward than their other stuff, but it succeeds in being straightforward. An acoustic ballad like this wouldn’t succeed if it was something like 10 minutes, which Pink Floyd still succeeds with a 10+ minute song with Shine on I-V. Don’t think WYWH is the best song ever or the best Pink Floyd song, but believe me, it’s up there, and it makes sense why this is their most popular song.
Instrumentally, this may be the best thing Pink Floyd had done to that point. Lead guitar was awesome in this title track.
Very powerful, engaging and moving song. Gilmour's scat singing as well the tight, yet emotionally powerful chord progression really make it amazing.
Umas das maiores baladas já feitas!
One of the more straight forward Pink Floyd songs, but I think that's what makes it so special. When the chorus hits, it's so powerful and beautiful, and I feel that it's one of their most heartfelt and emotional songs.
Without a doubt the most heartfelt, honest, and impassioned song from Pink Floyd, "Wish You Were Here" starts off with a beautiful opening guitar piece from David Gilmour that perfectly invokes tranquility and warmth
Songs don't get any better than Wish you were here.

Greatest rock ballad ever from the band who only bothered to create like 5 of them in their career roger waters must be the most underrated lyricist in rock music, imagine the praise bob Dylan would have gotten for penning this track.
No doubt, this is one of the best songs of all time!
