Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 71.0/100, a mean average of 69.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 70.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.6.

A pretty boring live album to be honest. Pulse is much better.

Crazy Diamond is predictably great but Dogs of War and On the Turning Away (love that outro solo) are also highlights for me, but yeah, I agree with the other members that there are too many dull moments on this one.

Much as I like Pink Floyd a lot, this was a bit of a strange compilation (yes I know it's live but in my view a compilation) in as much as after the first track, the next six tracks are from A Momentary Lapse of Reason. I bought this on tape when being able to play tapes in a car was 'state of the art'! I still have the tape but it doesn't really get played much now, mainly because I have all the Floyd albums on vinyl. My guess is that this album was produced to help shift more copies of Mommtary Lapse of Reason, perhaps trying to convert the Waters pack to the other side. Not really a true compilation then but a money genearating ploy, my view anyway.
