Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 81.4/100, a mean average of 80.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 81.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.1.

I’d agree with the previous comment. Some phenomenal tracks here but they sound so much better as part of the whole album.

A decent playlist, but these tracks must be listened to within the context of the albums.

If you are new to Pink Floyd, get this album, it's essential music, (though in no way covers all of Pink Floyd's best tracks). Once you become familiar with these tracks, then you will need to get all the albums, this collection has then done its job.

Great compilation if your a Floyd starter and haven't got the studio albums as with 26 tracks it's well covered. I've got all studio albums but pull this out when the occasion arises where I want a taste of all in one hit. Good selection. Of course there's songs that should be on here that aren't, but with so many tracks to choose from, well......

Great compilation and with the track listings could never achieve a low score. I would like to have seen 'Careful With That Axe Eugene' and 'Paintbox' or 'Remember A Day' in place of 'Jugband Blues' and 'Bike' from the Sid era but that's just personal.

Easily one of the best double disc best of collections out there. I love listening to each album in its own context but this is so beautifully constructed with the intros/outros that it’s a real fun listen a couple times a year.

I recommend getting the albums. This material needs to be heard in relation to the other tracks on the records.

One of the best compilations of all time, they could have made an Echoes Vol. 2 and 3 with all the great music Pink Floyd have made over the years. If you want to start getting to know what Pink Floyd are all about get this and then explore their back catalogue.

95/100. One of the greatest bands of all-time, but a catch-all compilation can't really do them justice. I don't really like the later stuff, it's pleasant enough, but it's completely irrelevant to the other music of it's time (1987-1994). And Pink Floyd were always ahead of the pack and hugely influential.
