Great track, very catchy hook.
Springsteen's biggest pop moment to date. It was originally to have been recorded by the Ramones but Springsteen changed his mind and in turn it has become one of his all time classics. Great track.
Thematially continues our dive into the river... another soul on the run from home, heartbroken, but guilty of leaving adulthood in the dust...we'll, it's right on his heels as we'll see in just a few songs...
Also, catchy as shit.

For anyone else, a great hit. Coming from Bruce, it was "WTF?" A POP song? A top 40 hit? Blasphemy! Still...he makes it seem effortless.
