His greatest ever vocal. Amazing.
One of the best songs on the album. Originally written for the, darkness on the edge of town, album, this beautiful version for, the river, was one of Springsteen's most mature and moving songs to date. Still is, come to think of it.
The second in Springsteen's 'daddy' series. Pretty powerful stuff. The ballads on the River prove his musical/production/sonic abilities.
