I think calling them "gifts" is just a losing candidate acting bitter. With that logic you can apply it equally to republicans, only their "gifts" are directed towards corporations, stockholders, oil companies, the religious right etc. Saying gifts make it sound like something sinister, like he's bribing them. No it's just policies that either side views as beneficial to society... maybe if they, oh I don't know, actually came together and tried to find a compromise between them.... we wouldn't just be dividing the country by saying one side gives gifts and the other takes 'em, our government would actually get moving again and each side would have their ideas being implemented into actual policy.

That's not the current Newsweek cover. It's a right wing parody, with their specific slant and talking points. Would you expect anything else from Naples?

I believe this might have been the source (a blog with an agenda):

It's a good photo shop job though, by a person like Naples that desperately needs a more constructive hobby. Razz

I just think Mitt Romney could've bowed out with a lot more class, perhaps just saying which ideas he thinks Barack Obama should consider to help get the country moving in the right direction in the next four years, no matter how unreasonable they are it would've at least given a final impression of a gracious candidate who would always put the country first. Instead it was just another slimy political response of a sore loser trying to belittle his loss in the election, another great example of why he should've never been president. Perhaps he's just bitter that the republicans are basically try to eschew him for good, but statements like the one he gave actually helps prove their (and the voters) point to a T.

He gave a great concession speech, one of the best. Then a few days later he answered a question, sometimes the truth hurts.

McCain's concession speech was one of the best. It was way stronger than anything in his campaign. Romney's concession speech wasn't bad, but it was too short to be seen as good.
