There's no need to torture yourselves if you don't like it. It's a great record by five guys at the top of their game. I wouldn't say that I find it relaxing either. When I hear it I get excited and my mind fires up. This is the real old head nod shit.

I agree. This isn't relaxing music. This is music meant to be listened to actively that should get anybody's adrenaline pumping.

Though I admit it's good for winding down as well if that's what you need at the time.

I'va always thought it was excellent, and then I re-listened to it recently (I was offered an aewsome 50th anniversary edition for Christmas, complete with vinyl, CDs and stuff), and I actually thought it deserved every bit of praise it gets. Awesome album.

I prefer his fusion work, with In A Silent Way being my favorite, but few albums are more atmospheric or make you feel more "cool" when you listen to it.

It is overrated, but it's still really good

This. So What and Flamenco Sketches (All Blues and Freddie are also pretty great) are the masterpieces here. I prefer Bitches Brew (particularly the first LP) though.

I prefer In A Silent Way and On the Corner, but still a solid album. The opener is probably my favorite off it.
