Rating own chart

Is it just me, or is this a site error?

We've always allowed people to do this and why not? It says something about somebody the way someone rates their own chart.

Well I just thought since you make your own chart, you're obviously going to like it, so you're bound to give it a 100. I've only seen one person that rated their chart below a 100 and that was 95. I guess I thought it would make for a more accurate rating system, if some people give themselves 100 and have stuff like Sublime, and Britney Spears on their chart; I would think that it would throw the charts off a bit. Not that people aren't entitled to their own opinions, but the point of the chart is to put forth the best of what music has to offer. Then again I don't know how this site's system works. This is such a small thing anyways, I suppose it doesn't matter much.

You are not the first person to mention this and you make a good case, so maybe we should stop people from being able to rate their own chart. I've added the idea to the list for one of the next site updates.

We've finally gotten around to implementing this suggestion and we've now removed the capability to rate your own chart.

Around 200 members had rated their own chart and pretty much everybody had rated their own chart between 80 and 100!

I agree with the view that continuing to allow people to rate their own chart unfairly disadvantages those people who have not given their own chart a rating (the average rating would therefore be skewed for these charts above the normal average).
