I really love Aphex Twin, and there are worse artists to listen to to dig into electronic, and I understand that people get hung up on him and DJ Shadow, but it does kinda bum me out that all of James's influences and the people that he influenced get thrown into this cute little pile of like ten artists who define '90s electronic music to the vast majority of listeners. That said, this is the album that actually pays off the hype and deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the things Chain Reaction was putting out that were really defining ambient techno for the 1990s.
