This is to see what people think about the two main OTC albums, and which one is better.

Music From The Unrealized Film Script: Dusk At Cubist Castle (87 Charts, Rank Score:1386, Overall Rank: 989)
Or
Black Foliage: Animation Music, Volume 1 (49 Charts, Rank Score: 1157, Overall Rank: 1159)

Personally, I think Black Foliage is far better, a masterpiece. However I've found out that many critics and fans alike, disagree and view Cubist Castle as the supreme OTC album.

So, I know that Cubist Castle has a higher rank but I was just wondering if people could share their opinions and justify them.

Yeah, I've had the same internal debate for years now. I love both and strongly feel that Black Foliage doesn't get enough love mostly because Cubist Castle is the critic's darling.

Edit: Looking more closely at the BEA rankings you posted the two albums seem to get almost equal love on this site which is pretty awesome!

I've not yet listened to Black Foliage yet, which is crazy because I've got Cubist Castle on my top 100 chart.

Side note, it was my adding Cubist Castle that gave it enough rank points to crack the top 1,000. Very happy about that.

Cubist Castle and Explanation II: Instrumental Themes and Dream Sequences for me.I like the more straight forward songs on the first album.Though Black Foliage is equally essential.I haven't tried playing the two disc simultaneously yet.

Only listened to Cubist cactle a few times and I loved it.

I will definitely have to re-listen as I know it will - like all albums with every listen - continue to grow on me.

I've always preferred Black Foliage. It's got Hideaway and I Have Been Floated. Those two songs define OTC for me.
