Really as sublime as music could get in the 20th century. Beefheart certainly made more challenging records after this, but none coming as close to the pure, unscrambled invigoration he gave here.

I enjoy Trout Mask a lot more than this album. I think this album is good but perhaps a little bit overrated, I also prefer lick my decals off over this album.

I like "yellow brick road", and "grown so ugly".
