Uh-huh. Pet Sounds gets my vote and two thumbs wayyyy up (I only wish I had more thumbs to use at this point). This was the world's first pop rock symphony. Absolutely beautiful. This album contains the most complex and jaw-dropping harmonies ever committed to vinyl and "God Only Knows" is the closest thing you'll ever experience that even comes close to recreating the feelings of actually being in love.

Mature music with an innocent, wide-eyed embrace. It's tender, thought-provoking, fun, complex, and just absolute ear candy. (This is from a guy that lists Black Sabbath as his all-time favorite band and that has Plasmatics and Sex Pistols CDs sitting right in front of his eyes. However, anger and angst aren't the opposite of love. That's "indifference." No, we're talking about just powerful, emotional reactions.)

Gee, is there any wonder why I would chose this album to be #1 on my list? I not only love this album...I'm IN love with this album.

All of the others listed have made great music. However, this is the only one that makes great music that also recreates empathy and emotion that you didn't even know you had.

If you're still in doubt about the awe and power of this album, just revert back to the words of Sir Paul McCartney, himself, who said it best: ""No one is educated musically until they've heard Pet Sounds...It is a total classic record that is unbeatable in many ways."

Sgt Peppers for me, first studio album I ever bought, way back in the 70's. Played it constantly so it brings back all kinds of memories of childhood.
