I always forget how many good songs the Ramones have. Might need to give this one another spin, there's a few tracks I definitely don't remember well. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!

It's really great. I have a lot of time for The Ramones' thrillingly predictable bubblegum punk, especially in the early days, when the songwriting - whilst arguably pretty rote - was full of vigour and really fun turns of phrase, the same way that those early Beach Boys albums are remarkably consistent and full of great tunes in spite of an inherent (and frankly very charming) lack of sonic or thematic variety. 'This is what we do,' it says, 'and we do it better than anybody else, to the point where even our more forgettable songs are beaming examples of our super-specific subgenre.' It's extremely fun, and it understands that sometimes the best pop music is about nothing other than being young and dumb. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs.
