I have the program reason on my computer because I was taught the basics of how to use it in high-school, otherwise I'm rather useless and stupid about these things.
From what I understand Reason is one of the most complex audio software programs to use, so well done you for even learning part of it. The one I use is definitley geared towards a "Garage Band" type of user-friendliness (though perhaps not quite as crazy user-friendly as Garage Band).
It sounds like a great soundtrack... a new Vangelis...
I'll take that as a huge compliment. I'm definitley going for the cheesy epicness that he did so well (and so does Daft Punk on Discovery).

but not a stand alone album.
Yeah, it's kinda why I wanna call it a symphony but don't want to at the same time because it sounds so wanky. It's definitley supposed to work without the listener having to be entirely engaged and work as background sorta stuff. MY friends (who have a copy that is almost the complete 50 minute piece) play it to their kid to get him to sleep

You really haven't shown us enough to assess whether you're making a decent album or not though.
true, I guess it's a bit much to ask people's opinions out of context.

From what you've shown us, these songs would be interludes of some sort of what I think of as a great album... but you either need to be more rhythmically entrancing (and I can point you towards some kick-ass rhythms if this is what you're going for) or more sonically diverse to separate yourself from the dinosaurs of krautrock and situate yourself closer to where Nicolas Jaar is going...
I honestly don't know where the krautrock thing is coming from...certainly not a direct influence (possibly indirect) and it seems kinda complimentary. In terms of your question about being more rhythmically entrancing or sonically diverse (Which I think you've brought up before) I guess desirably I'd like the piece to be both at different points so as to be a diverse journey. And I like Nicolas Jaar, quite a bit, but I don't think that's the direction I personally want to head in.
Thanks again for consistently giving me interesting feedback man.
When I listened to this, I was fine for around 10 seconds.
Then about 15 seconds in my eyes started watering in reaction to the repulsive noise I was subjecting myself to.
But I hoped it would get better soon so I kept listening.
Well, it didn't get better. It actually became even more nauseating, causing me to get more agitated and my stomach to turn.
After 1 minute (seemed like 1 week) of being subjected to this abominable mess I really started to come unhinged.
I started sweating profusely and my ears were burning.
But it was when the yodeling started that I began to foam at the mouth and went in and out of consciousness
The last thing I remember was the sound of a kazoo.
I'm O.K. now, just a slight headache and a bit of green liquid coming out of my ears and nose, but other than that I should be just fine in a few days.
This music is not just shockingly horrendous. It's actually dangerous.
If you lowered a microphone into the depths of Hades.
This is what it would sound like.
