Such an amazing album. I like it even more than Dummy. The somber, yearning mood is dark with rims of hope -- just so overwhelming. An instant classic!

The more I think about it, I actually prefer this to either of their first two albums. I find the switch to a more electronic sound a lot more interesting. Also, Portishead has one of the greatest singers in music history in Beth Gibbons. Her voice is always very haunting to me and really gives each Portishead record its own unique feel. Easily one of the best albums of the 2000's.
