Let's forget now about the negativity for a while.
I think the opening ceremony was fantastic, one of the best I have seen. The great cultural heritage - literature, architekt, fine arts, ballett or opera - of Russia were presented beautifully. I loved the historical parts of the ceremony as well.
Anna Netrebko's performance was fabulous, zoo. I liked that the athletes went to the stadium in the beginning of the ceremony, so they could enjoy almost the whole event live.
Apart from the ceremony, I won't follow as much events as I do durint the Summer Olympics. Hungary is very good at the Summer Olympics but not really at the Winter Games.
My favourite sport is to watch is figure skating, a very artistic sport which combines music, dancing/ballett and sport. I cheer to Yu-Na Kim, she's been my favourite athlete since many years and she is a favorite to defend her Olympic title.
I'm gonna watch Tina Maze and our ski jumpers battle for the medals, and our hockey players getting thrashed by the Russians and Americans. Not sure I have that much interest in the rest
As person who lives in a country where it hardly ever snows and has only been skiing once, I love the Winter Olympics! Think Ireland have like 5 athletes, so yeah we're clearly gonna dominate!
