Finally watched it, it was really good! I don't think I'd put it above Nolan's second Batman, but it's not that far either. And it's the best in terms of style, atmosphere and the story. A cool noir, Nirvana was a good fit, Pattinson was excellent, didn't even notice Colin Farrell was Cobblepot until the end credits. John Turturo was the best though, stole the show. The Catwoman subplot, especially their kinda romantic relationship was all over the place, and there were some jokes which did not land at all. The car chase sequence was a bit weird too, still not sure if I liked it, apart from the last part when the car rolls over. Other than that, a fantastic movie.
Totally! Forgot about this!! He was amazing. All the villains were! All were very fleshed out! Psyched the Penguin is getting his own show. He was great too!
Wasn't expecting this news. Definitely a shame— I always felt Willis would have some sort of spectacular career-highlight performance in the next few years (ever since his fantastic role in Moonrise Kingdom, I thought he was on the brink of some against cast-type late-career magnum opus). I mean, the dude still has stacks of awesome film moments, from Pulp Fiction, The Sixth Sense, 12 Monkeys, The Fifth Element (never noticed how numerical his acclaimed titles were ). And I mean, of course Die Hard.
My repeated dogging on him and bemoaning of how he had "given up" based on his output of the last few years, is something I feel really guilty of now. I highly doubt he's at all to blame for the way those godawful VOD films are executed.
Anyone here seen Everything Everywhere All at Once? Apparently it's absolutely incredible. Just surpassed Parasite as Letterboxd's highest rated film.
Feel like it came out of nowhere. Wasn't even aware of it until last week.
Seeing it next week. I've been really really looking forward to it since I saw a trailer a few months ago. The Daniels have done some interesting stuff, all over the place and really wacky. I've loved most of their music videos even when I don't love the songs. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!
