Well ok not "deep" then, but at least something that's not as straightforward as "Here's Frankie, he's married, he's got a kid, he's working in a factory, etc."
The last line is kinda good. "We're all Frankies lying in hell". Not deep, but at least not that straightforward

Yeahhhh..... I don't like this one. I liked the first 2 songs, but the rest.. meh.

Oh and Frankie Teardrop sucks. It's not nearly as interesting to me as everyone seems to think.

Surprised This choice is pretty surprising. I thought you would choose Ghost Rider or something.

Not that I don't agree with it.

Frankie Teardrop is not meant to be deep. It's meant to be straightforward. Otherwise it wouldn't have the same effect.

Haven't heard full album yet, but I did hear enough songs to get the idea.

It's certainly interesting, and it does create an intense atmosphere. On the other hand I don't think it's that perfect. For one thing, I'm bothered by lyrics. I know they're not the main part of the album, but I still think they're way too poor. Take Frankie Teardrop, for example, it's as if they were written by some 12 year old who doesn't speak much english yet and hasn't developed enough of a vocabulary to write something that would be deep in any way.
It's the reason why I find that song hilarous... Besides the screams.

If you're to make 'raw', minimalistic music, singing elaborate lyrics to it seems nonsensical and counterproductive to me.

Of course, one could argue that doing the nonsensical thing would've been the thing to do, making that kind of music, but that would be nonsensical too, and a distraction. So yeah, I agree with Norman here.

Ghost Rider is my favourite off this Smile Most epic drums in the world.

Overall, it's a decent album. It is cheap sounding (as mentioned before), and the lyrics aren't anything great, but the overall experience of listening to it is something of its own.

Naples always choose the most famous song, which isn't necessarily the most accessible.
