this album is better than both paranoid and sabotage
I think I could probably put it above Vol. 4 and even, yes I'm going to say it, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, but not over paranoid, and DEFINITELY not over sabotage. Sabotage is one of my favorite albums ever. Easily their most angry.
Assuming the songs I have listened to (pretty much half the album) and the rest of the album sound the same, then this is Sabbath's best sounding work I have heard. of course I prefer Paranoid mainly because it has better lyrics and it's more ferocious than this album, but I have to listen to the rest of it of course.
Heaven and Hell is the best Black Sabbath album. Every track is good.
Jesus Christ, this thread has been buried for eight months.
And then you go ahead and unearth it and all you have to contribute to the discussion is "every track is good". Wow. What a mind-blowing commentary. You're a regular Jim McCay, you know that?
"AAAAND THE ALBUM'S GOOD! AAAAAND THE TRACKS ARE GOOD!"
Great. Fantastic. What about the tracks, exactly? What grips you? I don't have a fucking clue who you are, so you just telling me that this album is the best and that every track is good doesn't do much for me. What you're doing here isn't very conductive to an interesting discussion. Opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one, at least give us an asshole we can chew on a little. _________________ A dick that's bigger than the sun.

So is this how you welcome a new member of BEA Jackwc?
Well, for one thing, Dio took over the vocals and the songwriting for Sabbath on this album and brought the band back to life. I feel that Heaven and Hell contains a quality of hope in it's music and it's lyrics that is lacking somewhat in their previous albums. The songs on the album are hard rocking while still retaining the darkness only Black Sabbath can seem to achieve while managing to tear your face off with thunderous drums and bass playing. With all due respect to Ozzie who I'm a big fan of. Dio was the reason this album is the crowning achievement among the many great Sabbath albums.
This was my favourite Sabbath album at one point, but the last time I listened to it I was struck by how bloody boring it all sounded! The production is great and there are some catchy parts, no doubt, but where did the interesting riffs go? That's what this album lacks, which is weird because Iommi used to be a master of just that, while on this album he becomes eclipsed by every other band member. So now I think I prefer the follow-up. :/

Are you referring to the Mob Rules album? I like that album they did also with Dio.
