allrighty, great to see interest. Yeah I think Im going to hammer out the rules before we take the next step, but in many ways it will probably be similar to the BYT tournament but on a bit of a more modest scale.

Some Ideas:

- Year verification is the trickiest. Im thinking going by the IMDB date, just because that would be the easiest, though often that goes by whenever it was first shown. Going by the original country of orgin release would also be tricky because some weren't always given a standard commercial release. The best method I might put up to a vote.

- How would the "teams" be presented? Im thinking of either two or three films and then something else being highligted, like a particular performance, cinematography, musical score, screenplay etc. Again that part is open to suggestion.

- Ill wait to see how many films are nominated and then decide if it's going to be a playoff or knockout structure. Playoff sounds like a lot more fun but that would require a lot more investment from each year's captains.

- Again Im thinking if we do it similar to the Best year in music tournament that each captain will have a co-captain, in case I can't get a hold of them when needing the teams to be presented. It will also give each other a good chance to share recs and consider movies that maybe you would've missed otherwise.


Anyways, I think we'll get the rules set in stone before we start nominating. I also want to give people time to look up what year has their most favorite movies (or just a general favorite year overall) before as well before they pick their pony for the tournament

Aww this makes me sad! I wanna participate but I don't know shit about movies compared to what I know about albums, and even that isn't much.
