The mixing here is almost as offensive as the music itself. It's like it's jabbing your ears with a rusty fork.

Nah, Metal Box sounds like stabbing your ears with a rusty fork and it's beautiful. This sounds like stale bread being dipped in fizzy water.

Doubt I'll ever listen to this album in full again, you hear the singles often enough to not need to anyway. I find them quite inoffensive, will sing along if it's on the radio.

Guys, Oasis were quite good. The Beatles were highly influenced by them. Razz

I was expecting more negativity with this one, actually. I do have a soft spot for Oasis, but even taking that into account, I think this is a solid album. It's the only one I really go back to other than The Masterplan. Definitely overrated on the overall chart, though.

The second half of this album is decent and consistent, the first half has only a few good moments. If Definitely Maybe was their Pablo Honey, then this is like The Bends' B-sides.

I always think of Oasis as a singles band and would probably never relisten to a full album. One or two good enough singles to hear on the radio on this LP, nothing more; but hey that's a little something at least.

Actually, I think "Hey Now!" is the best track on the album... and the opening track has always been a favorite. Come to think of it, the only Oasis songs that really bother me were singles. There's just no excuse for "Don't Look Back in Anger". And Be Here Now sounds like it was made entirely for the radio.

As much as I want to not like Oasis, I cannot deny this is a good album.

Not bad but nothing exciting about it either - I can listen to some of the songs some day but I'd rather be listening something else...this is pretty much how I feel about it... Neutral
