Listening for next 3 days (well - I probably won't be doing much listening next three days so probs take about 5 days)

Helen Merril by Helen Merrill

Very nice vocal jazz. Lulls a bit at the beginning but picks up pace from there on out. It's essentially what you'd expect from an early 50's jazz record.

Also why is it every time I think I've found some proper obscure album I find out Hayden's rated it? I'M TRYING TO BE UNIQUE GO GET A JOB OR SOMETHING.

75/100

Moondance by Van Morrison

It's good. It's no Astral Weeks but its good.

astral weeks

65/100

Backwash by Talulah Gosh

Good Ass Shit.

85/100

When the end of 1812 Overture hits

85/100

Over The Edge by Wipers

I feel like the Wipers are perfect nilhilist rock, which is a wonderful fit for how I feel most of the time!

On this image I feel Can would be more the right side and Wipers the left.

RYM is a treasure cos how else am I going to find this?

Listening to the first few tracks reminds me how utterly dark the original movie is. Absolutely need to rewatch it sometime - as well as watching the many movies in the franchise I've never seen.

I've had a decade-old Godzilla DVD box-set at home, but the only (non-Gavin) one I've seen in the past half-decade is Godzilla's Revenge, which I've always said is my favorite from nostalgia. Would you be interested in leading me to a viewer's guide, Luke?

First off melt down Godzilla's Revenge. Even young me found that indifensible.

From what I remember, all the 50's-70's ones are decent aside from Godzilla Raids Again, which is just a slog. (and ofc the aforementioned Revenge). There's no real order to it beyond chronological, Godzilla movies are hardly something you need to ease into Laughing That's also ideal because it starts you off with Gojira, probably the only one from the Showa era (54-75) that someone other than a nostalgic sucker like myself could appreciate. Y'know, like a serious film person or something.

Beyond 1975 I can't help, never had them at home.
