Didn't see the original thread, this was in its own thread from the first I saw it - I was just making a thinly veiled comment that Mr. Shankly is a hypocrite. _________________ <(: @ >

There is often irreverent comments/topics posted on this website (especially in the Lounge), so I admit to being surprised that NAPLES' pictures ruffled some feathers. I don't think he was making any political statement lol. They were just some funny pictures. Are the Left more fascist than we think? : O
I thought the Left believed in free speech and free thought?

He ruffled feathers because he was doing some hardcore threadjacking and trolling. I wouldn't call a librarian a fascist or accuse them of taking away someone's freedom of speech because they don't allow people to just waltz in and start yelling about politics. There is a proper setting for certain things, that's all. Now that these posts have been moved to an appropriate thread, he can post all the propaganda he wants.

That's bullshit. He ruffled feathers because of political ideologies. That seems pretty obvious. The people who support Obama want it moved. If he had posted a bunch of political album covers about Margaret Thatcher, or god forbid, Bush nobody would have uttered a word because you would have been laughing at it.

Well, you can look at what the three people complaining actually said before you call that bullshit:

Just start a separate Obama thread

Two questions: When/Why did this become a political thread? Is this really the place for teabagging nonsense? |
Shankly did go on to criticize the ideology, but his real problem was the thread being jacked and the posts out of place.

I don't support Obama, and I wanted it moved. I would have the same reaction to a page full of off-topic posts praising Obama. I'm not sure how the other people feel, but now that it has been moved, I don't see them complaining anymore.
The floor is yours, Naples. Post away! Freedom of speech! Fuck Yeah!

Oh...well...I'll have to come up with a new theory then. But this new one will be even more damning. You will feel like a deer in the spotlights with this next one. Just wait.

I never meant for Naples to be censored, I don't condone censorship, not in any way. But the Great Album Covers thread is what it is. I have no problem with Naples starting a different thread with whatever subject he likes, but being aboslutely ignorant in album covers, seeing post after post of album covers parody involving whoever by the way, is not interesting to me on a "greatest covers" thread. FFS, I'm not even American, and I understand shit about American politics. I don't care about Naples' political ideas, I'm not an Obama supporter myself (I'm very far from the USA and only get glimpses of what he does, not enough to form any opinion). The accusation of political censorship is preposterous, and somewhat hurting. As to the term "fascist", I find it downright insulting.
