Saw him do this live a few years back and it was killer. I give the edge to Darkness on the Edge of Town and Born to Run, but this is definitely among his best work.

I love this record. It does a perfect job of combining both his more upbeat rockers (Hungary Heart) with his depressing songs that he perfected on the previous two records (The River). A very underrated record in my opinion, one that doesn't get nearly enough attention, probably due to many in the indie rock set to prefer Nebraska. I'd rank this his third best record overall, between Darkness and Nebraska.

That would've been great. I saw the entire Born to Run album performed.

Love this album. In his top 5 for sure. I love the mix of rockers and slower songs. The River and Independence Day incredible.

Not sure that I could honestly say I prefer this to Darkness or Nebraska, but as others have said it's certainly among his best.

Never "got" any of Springsteen's stuff, and especially not this. Does nothing for me.
