Post subject: A Musician Explains Why Spotify Is Not The Enemy
I know we've seen our fair share of pro and anti streaming articles in the past few years, but this one my buddy wrote for Business Insider is a pretty great look at the controversial subject matter.
"That $15 you spent on Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Californiation" was cut up so many times even a frontman of Anthony Kiedis' esteem could have seen less than 15 cents. When you take into account that the cost of CDs was artificially inflated and we should have probably been paying half what we were, you realize Kiedis' maybe-15-cents-per-disc was like hitting the lottery every single sale. That's why piracy, and then legal streaming, came along." _________________ http://jonnyleather.com
I barely ever used Kazaa. went straight from Napster to Limewire. I can't even begin to imagine how much stuff I would have downloaded if speeds were as fast as they are now. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com
