January 2011 site update

Happy new year to everybody!

We had a huge surge of traffic in December brought about by end of year lists. For new visitors, please see our roadmap for 2011 which sets out our intentions for the next twelve months.

We've made quite a few updates over the past month and we will continue with a monthly release cycle into 2011.

December's improvements:

• We've fully implemented the Facebook Open Graph protocol.
  
• We now show a summary for each individual chart of the highest climbers/fallers (and we also show climbers/fallers if a historical period is selected on the overall chart).
  
• Added a new option to the customise chart page to include or exclude recognised charts and added better tooltips to provide more information on each parameter.
  
• Lots of improvements to increase the performance of the site and help it serve bigger traffic numbers.
  
• We now show a chart composition for the overall chart.
  
• We now show album art on the newly added albums page.
  
• Fixed an issue in the forums where posting large images could break the page layout.
  
• Lots of other tweaks and enhancements.

I'd just like to say thank you to everybody who has visited the site in 2010 and a special thank you to those that have contributed ideas and suggestions. Your feedback is very valuable.
