First I want to say don't get me wrong I'm a huge Metallica fan.I've bought 6 of their albums and have seen them live.I have no album on my chart placed higher on my chart that was made in the last 25 years than Master Of Puppets.But Rob Halford of Juds Priest is a vastly superior vocalist compaired to James Hetfield of Metallica.Halford has a voice unsurpassed in power and range.Judas Priest were major contributors in the advancement of the metal genre of music.But what I'm interested in here is simply the quality of the albums these 2 bands have made and to judge by that only in making my decision.So,my proposition is simply that the overall collective studio album discography of Judas Priest is of a higher caliber than that of Metallica.So I will simply put the 9 studio albums of Metallica against 9 from Judas Priest and rate from 0-10.
+ METALLICA +
Kill Em All = 8.8
Ride The Lightning = 9.9
Master Of Puppets = 10
And Justice For All = 9.4
Metallica-Black Album = 8.9
Load = 6.3
Reload = 5.8
St.Anger = 4.1
Death Magnetic = 7.5

Average score = {7.9}
VS
+ JUDAS PRIEST +
Sad Wings Of Destiny = 9.1
Sin After Sin = 7.9
Stained Class = 9.2
Hell Bent For Leather = 8.6
British Steel = 8.8
Screaming For Vengeance = 9.3
Defenders Of The Faith = 9.1
Painkiller = 9.2
Angel Of Retribution = 7.7

JUDAS PRIEST WINS 8.7 Over METALLICA at 7.9
Anybody out there have an opinion on my findings?

Even Slayer is better than Metallica .. I used to be a big Metallica fan until I saw Both of them in concert. I think you were generous with St. Anger, Load and Reload.
Load = 3.0
Reload = 2.5
St Anger = 0.5 (trash)
Granted Master of Puppets is the best release from both bands without doubt, but Metallica's best and worst are extremely far apart. Judas Priest's albums are pretty much the same quality.
So basically if you want to be guaranteed at least a good listening experience Judas>Metallica
If you want possibly the best Metal/Rock album of the past 30 years Master of puppets takes it.

I am going to agree with that overall. While I am a Metallica fan, Priest have the better overall catalog.

RFNAPLES You surprise me.So,going by your reasoning then,because I have 2 albums by Queensryche and 2 albums by the Rolling Stones,the 2 bands are equal? So Queensryche is just as good of a band then the Rolling Stones? You may not have had a chance to read my opening statement.I stated that if you take the albums by Metallica and the albums by Judas Priest and put them up against each other.Judas Priest wins the battle.I rated 9 albums from each band and added up the scores and Metallica lost.Which kind of shocked me actually.

Actually purple I never asked a question.I asked if anyone had an opinion on my findings.I stated a conclusion based on a quality comparison.Feel free to answer the question that you have posed though.Let me know how that one turns out will you? See purple it's my guess that it's people saying things like you did on this post is one of the reasons that even though there are 9,439 registered users on G.A.E. only a handfull of the same people actually post on these forums.I doubt very highly that you have ever even listened to all of the songs from Judas Priest albums like Stained Class,Sin After Sin,or Sad Wings Of Destiny.So I conclude that you are much more qualified to answer your question than to make a statement about mine.

damn straight I haven't listened to those albums, usually can't get through an entire song. At least I can somewhat enjoy Ride the Lightning and some of Metallica's singles. And yeah, drinking piss vs. eating shit is my thoughts on your comparison, which is pretty much why you post in the forums, to get other's thoughts. Personally I believe Metallica would be the piss and Priest the shit, but that's just me
