Should you be judged by your color or sex too? |
Absolutely Naples, sorry if my last comment sounded offensive. I know many Christians who accept evolution as a fact, who believe life has existed for more than a few thousand years, who don't use their religion to mask bigotry etc etc and these people don't deserve criticism.
To believe in god is , in my opinion, not a ridiculous belief and nobody should be mocked for it. But if somebody denies evolution for example are we not allowed to question their judgement simply because it's based on religion? I don't think so, you can't use religion as an excuse for believing in ridiculous or unacceptable things.
For example religion is not an excuse for homophobia (but try telling that to the republican candidates). _________________ Shut up mate you're boring!

Funny thing is...republican candidates (as well as some democrat and, for that matter, people on the street) are happy to tell you about their religious beliefs, even putting them forth to show how morally just and upstanding members of the community they are. Yet, when those very same beliefs that they themselves flaunted are used against them their supporters immediately come running and say "Hey! Religion is a personal matter! It is not right of you to use that to make fun of someone!". Well, I'm not the one who forgot that religious beliefs are like penises:
- It's fine to have one.
- It's fine to be proud of it.
- But don't take it out in public and start waving it around.
- And please do not try to shove it down our children's throats.

Even though it to a certain extent negates my point I have to agree with you. Romney's been good at keeping it in his pants, and has even given some quality answers when asked about it. Credit should be given where credit is due.
Evil-spirited people would of course argue that he has been doing so because his particular style of penis is looked unfavorably upon by a large group of the religious voters, but we don't want to be evil-spirited around here.
