- Post subject: J-Rock recommendations?
|
So YouTube as of late has decided to take upon itself to show me all this random Japanese music. The reason for this is completely unknown but I'm not unhappy that it did because I'm enjoying it a lot. I have no idea if some of the stuff is on this site so I'm just gonna share some links here.
So I dunno if anyone here listens to this stuff, but any recommendations would be great.

(I can't seem to find this stuff anywhere but YouTube lmao)

There used to be some websites I used to access Japanese, Chinese, South Korean, and Taiwanese music but ultimately they’ve shut down in recent years. This leaves only a few handful of options—knowing the right people to find it, blogs, importing expensive CDs, or getting an invite code to jpopsuki. There’s a lot of discord and mIRC servers (as well as discussion websites) that could help you get the foot in the door on where to listen/experience music from Eastern Asia as well.

I should've been more specific, my bad. I'm more so looking for actual music recommendations. Like good J-Rock albums. Though your post does help, thanks.

I can discuss anything in-depth, so I guess I'll be around.

That Druid bloke from that exploding teardrop band wrote this, is supposed to be good. Not sure it covers what you want. Wouldn't mind getting it myself.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japrocksampler

You know I would never buy a book on this sort of thing (not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not necessarily my jam), but considering how difficult it is to discover this kind of music I might have to make an exception.
