As you might be aware, the first version of the BEA moderation system was released last month which allows band/artist details to be edited by BEA members (a big thanks to the members that have tried this out so far).

As part of this month's site update, the BEA moderation system has been extended to allow members to contribute edits for any *album* on the site including the title, year of release, performing artist and album artwork.

To make edits to any album, click the edit icon next to the album title from the relevant album page. If the album is not locked from editing, various fields will be editable. Once you've made your edits, click on the save button and your changes will be effected immediately. (More details of the moderation process are contained in last month's announcement - albums and bands are moderated in the same way).

The final phase of work for the moderation system will be to allow tracks to be edited and we will also take the opportunity to add something to allow members to propose edits to 'locked' items as well (to replace reporting these edits via the forums). After this next phase of work, BEA will finally be in a position to offer bigger charts (and all of those other goodies listed on the roadmap)!

As well this month, we've made various performance tweaks across the site (the site is now noticeably faster, particularly on the album and band pages) and we've made some small improvements on the forums to address some minor annoyances e.g. fixing a problem with Wikipedia URLs, improving compatibility with IE9 and allowing users to filter by username on the member-list page.
